About this part

The Opti-Spark distributor on these engines sits behind the water pump, where moisture and heat cause many failures. Accel 59125 is an all new aluminum unit in black with new hardware. The cap is made of high dielectric glass filled thermoplastic with brass contacts, sealed against corrosion and vented to release heat. Traces are overmolded to stop arc over and the rotor blade is coated. It plugs straight into the factory harness.

Installation notes

Disconnect the battery and drain coolant as needed, since the water pump usually comes off. Fix any water pump leak at the same time, as coolant kills Opti-Spark units. Replace the plug wires if they are old.
