About this part

This kit replaces both front rotors and the pads at the same time. The rotors are drilled and slotted to shed heat and are zinc plated against rust. The Z23 Daily Driver pads use a carbon-fiber ceramic compound that Power Stop says brakes harder than standard ceramic pads, with less dust. Multi-layer rubberized shims help cut noise. Stainless-steel hardware and high-temperature ceramic brake lube are included, and the manufacturer calls it a bolt-on upgrade with no modifications.

K5583 is listed for the 2019 Ford Explorer with standard brakes and 325mm front rotors. Explorers with a different brake package may use another rotor size and need another kit. Installation notes

Lift the front on jack stands and remove the wheels. Clean the caliper slides and use the included lube on the hardware contact points. Torque the lug nuts in a star pattern and bed in the pads with several moderate stops before normal driving.
