Air Intake
Air Filter
An engine air filter stops dust and debris before air enters the intake. We list 30 air filters priced from $6 to $243 for 1961-2026 vehicles, including panel, square and round designs. Chevrolet models such as the Camaro lead the list, with options for the Ford Mustang, F150, Toyota Prius and Sienna.

When to change it
A clean filter lets the engine breathe freely while keeping grit out of the cylinders. As it collects dirt, airflow drops.
Check the filter at each oil change and follow your owner manual interval. Dusty roads, construction zones and farm use call for more frequent changes. A filter that looks dark or clogged when held to a light, has debris in the pleats, or has a torn seal is due for replacement. A badly clogged filter can lower power and fuel economy on older engines.
Shape, media and grade
Air filters come in rectangular or square panels and round designs, and the shape must match your air box exactly. Media options include cellulose, which is the common standard, and synthetic, which some brands use for higher dust capacity.
High performance filters such as K&N are reusable and can be cleaned and re-oiled. Some listings note whether a gasket is included and which original part numbers the filter replaces, which helps you cross reference.
Fitment check
Pick your year, make and model and read the fitment table for engine size, since different engines in one model often use different filters. Comparing the old filter's part number is a quick way to confirm.
When installing, wipe out the air box, seat the filter so the seal sits evenly, and close every clip. A filter that is not seated lets dirty air bypass it.
Air Filter questions
How often should I replace my engine air filter?
Follow the interval in your owner manual, and inspect it at every oil change. Replace it sooner if you drive in dusty conditions.
Is a reusable air filter better than a paper one?
A reusable filter can be cleaned many times, which suits some owners. A standard cellulose filter is cheaper upfront and works well when changed on schedule.
Is the engine air filter the same as the cabin filter?
No. The engine air filter cleans air going into the engine. The cabin filter cleans air coming through the vents into the passenger area.
