When to replace the assembly

A turn signal assembly holds the bulb socket, reflector and lens for your front or side signal. Replace the assembly when the lens is cracked, faded or broken, or water has gotten inside and corroded the socket.

If the signal does not work but the housing is fine, try a new bulb and check the socket first. A fast blinking signal usually means a bulb is out on that side.

Side, position and lens color

Left is the driver side and right is the passenger side. Check the position field, as some listings are front left or front right, and some combine turn signal, parking and side marker lights in one unit.

Lens choices include factory amber, clear and smoke. Some vehicles use a clear lens with an amber bulb. If you change to LED, check that your flasher works correctly with the lower power draw.

Fitment by trim

Turn signal designs change with trim level and model year. A Silverado 1500 with a chrome grille or a different front fascia may use a different signal. Compare the shape, mounting tabs and connector of your old unit with the listing.

Use the fitment table for your year, trim and body style. Replace both sides at the same time if you want the lenses to match in color and clarity.

Turn Signal questions

Why is my turn signal blinking fast?

A fast blink usually means a bulb has burned out on that side. It can also happen after fitting LED bulbs without a compatible flasher or resistor.

Does the turn signal assembly come with a bulb?

Some do and some do not. Check the package contents. LED assemblies have built in light sources and do not use replaceable bulbs. Replace the bulb and recheck before buying a new assembly.

Are clear turn signal lenses legal?

Clear lenses are generally legal as long as the light emitted is amber, as required for front turn signals. Check your state rules for any lens tint.
