Bumper Cover
A bumper cover is the painted outer shell of the bumper that you see on the front or rear of the vehicle. We list 35 bumper covers from $78 to $560 for 1963-2018 vehicles. All the top fits are Chevrolet: the Malibu, Impala, Camaro and Corvette. Action Crash makes most of them, along with TechPro and Street Scene.

When to replace the cover
Bumper covers are made of plastic or urethane so they can flex in minor bumps. Small scuffs and scratches can often be repaired, but tears, deep cracks, broken mounting tabs and heavy distortion usually call for a new cover.
A cover with broken tabs may not line up with the fenders and headlights, and it can loosen at highway speed. Check the absorber, reinforcement and brackets behind it, since they often take damage in the same impact.
Paint and options
Most replacement bumper covers ship unpainted, usually in primer or raw plastic, and need to be painted to match your vehicle. Plan for paint prep and color matching with a body shop or a paint supplier using your paint code.
Check the listing for openings for fog lights, parking sensors, tow hooks and license plate brackets. Front, rear, front lower and side positions are listed, so make sure you pick the piece you need.
Fitment and install
Use the vehicle selector and read the fitment table for trim and body style. Sport and base trims often use different covers, and many models changed bumper style mid generation.
The cover is held by clips, screws and push pins in the wheel wells, under the vehicle and along the top edge. Transfer grilles, trim and sensors from the old cover. Align the gaps to the fenders and headlights before tightening the fasteners.
Bumper Cover questions
Do bumper covers come painted?
Most replacement covers come unpainted and need to be painted to match your vehicle's color code before install.
Can a cracked bumper cover be repaired?
Small cracks and scuffs can often be repaired with plastic repair kits. Large tears and broken tabs usually mean replacement.
What is the difference between a bumper cover and a bumper?
The cover is the outer plastic shell. Behind it sit the absorber and the reinforcement bar, which take the impact energy.
