Door Handle
A door handle connects your hand to the latch, through rods or a cable, so the door opens from inside or outside. We list 31 door handles from $5 to $255 for 1967-2017 vehicles, from Dorman, DIY Solutions, Brock and Needa, with fits for the Chevrolet Camaro, Ford Explorer, Toyota Camry, Jeep Wrangler and Ford E350 Econoline.

When a handle needs replacing
Plastic handles crack and their pivot pins wear, so the handle may feel loose, move without opening the door, or snap off. Sometimes a rod clip has popped off instead, which you can check with the door panel removed. A handle that is stiff may just need lubrication of the latch. If the outside handle works but the inside does not, or the reverse, the problem is usually in that handle or its linkage.
Position, finish and type
Handles are listed as exterior or interior, and by position: front left, front right, rear left, rear cargo, or side sliding door. A driver side handle will not fit the passenger side. Finishes include chrome, black, chrome lever and smooth black, which may be designed for painting to match your body color. Materials are plastic or metal. Some come as 2 piece sets. Linkage and mounting hardware are not included on many listings, so plan to reuse your rods and clips.
Installation tips
Pick your year, make and model and check the fitment table for door count, trim and whether your vehicle has a keyhole or keyless entry sensor in the handle. Most exterior handles need the door panel and vapor barrier removed. Roll the window up first so it is out of the way. Take a photo of the rod connections before disconnecting them, transfer the lock cylinder if your handle has one, and test the handle from both sides before refitting the trim.
Door Handle questions
Do I need to remove the door panel to replace a door handle?
For most exterior handles and many interior ones, yes. The handle is held by nuts or bolts inside the door and connects to rods or cables there. A few handles mount from the outside.
Can I reuse my lock cylinder with a new door handle?
Usually yes. Most exterior handles with a keyhole let you move the old cylinder into the new handle so your existing key still works. Check the listing for whether a cylinder is included.
What does a smooth black handle mean?
It typically means a plain textured or smooth black finish rather than chrome. Some smooth black handles are meant to be painted to match your body color. Check the listing details.
