Fender
A fender is the body panel that covers the front wheel and runs from the bumper to the door. We carry 36 fenders from $61 to $1900 for 1962-2020 vehicles, mostly from Action Crash, with fits for the Chevrolet Malibu, Impala and Camaro, Jeep Wrangler, Nissan Altima and Mercedes ML350.

Replace or repair
Small dents and scratches can often be repaired, but a fender with creases, torn metal, heavy rust or damaged mounting points is usually cheaper to replace than to rebuild. Because fenders bolt on rather than being welded on most cars and trucks, replacing one is a common job after a front corner collision. A new panel needs to line up with the hood, door and bumper, so measure the gaps before you remove the old one.
Quality grades and materials
Listings show quality grades. CAPA Certified panels have been tested by an independent program for fit and materials. Platinum Plus is described as a high standard for fit and finish. Value Line focuses on cost savings, and Premium is a new replacement part. Most fenders here are steel, with some aluminum. Many replacement panels arrive in primer or a protective coating, so plan for paint matched to your paint code unless the listing shows another finish.
Fitting the new fender
Choose your year, make and model and check the fitment table for trim, since holes for side markers, moldings, antennas and emblems vary. Some fenders need drilling for these, as listed in the installation notes. Transfer the inner liner, brackets and lights from the old panel. Hang the fender loosely, adjust it so the gaps to the hood and door are even, then tighten the bolts. Seal and paint any bare metal before final assembly.
Fender questions
Does a replacement fender come painted?
Most replacement fenders are not painted to match your vehicle. They usually come in primer or a protective coating. Have the panel painted using your vehicle's paint code before or after fitting.
What does CAPA Certified mean?
CAPA is an independent certification program for aftermarket collision parts. A CAPA Certified panel has been tested for fit and material quality against the original part.
Do I need to drill holes in a new fender?
Sometimes. Some listings note that drilling is required for moldings, emblems or antennas that only certain trims use. Check the installation notes and compare with your old fender.
