What grille moulding does
The moulding covers the gap between the grille and the surrounding body panels and gives the front end a finished edge. On many older Mercedes and BMW models it is a chrome or bright trim piece that clips into the grille shell or the bumper cover.
Mouldings get pitted, bent or cracked from stone chips, car washes and minor bumps. A missing piece also leaves clips exposed, which can let the grille rattle.
Picking the correct side
Parts in this category are listed as front left or front right. Left means the driver side and right means the passenger side on a US vehicle. Check the listing image and compare the shape with your old trim.

Fitting tips
Many mouldings clip into place, and old clips are often brittle. Use a plastic trim tool to avoid scratching paint, and replace broken clips. Clean the mounting area before fitting the new piece.
If your moulding mounts with small nuts on the back of the grille, you may need to remove the grille. Take your time, as older plastic parts can crack in cold weather.
