Valance Panel

A valance panel is the lower section below the bumper that finishes the front or rear of your vehicle and guides airflow. We list 31 valance panels from $19 to $249 for 1997-2016 vehicles, mostly from Action Crash. Fits include the Ford F150 and F250 Super Duty, Chevrolet Equinox and Ram 1500.

When to replace a valance

Valances sit low, so they take hits from curbs, parking blocks, snow banks and road debris. Plastic valances crack or tear, and their mounting tabs break. A hanging valance can catch on the road and pull off the bumper fasteners.

Replace a valance that is torn, missing pieces or no longer holds its clips. On many vehicles it also supports fog lights or helps direct air to the radiator.

Front or rear and quality options

Check the position for front or rear. Some vehicles also use different valances for trims with fog lights, tow hooks or a different bumper style.

Quality levels are listed, such as Premium, Value Line and CAPA Certified. CAPA certification is an independent test for fit and finish on collision parts. Some valances come textured black and are ready to fit, while others need painting to match your vehicle.

Fitting tips

Most valances attach with plastic push clips and a few screws along the bumper and wheel liners. Replace broken clips rather than reusing them.

Compare the openings on the new panel with your old one before you start. Use the fitment table for trim and drive type, as 4WD trucks and sport packages can use different valances. Support the vehicle on ramps or stands if you need more space underneath.

Valance Panel questions

Is a valance the same as a bumper cover?

No. The valance is the lower panel below the bumper. On some vehicles it is part of the bumper cover, and on others it is a separate part.

Does a valance panel come painted?

Some come in textured black and need no paint. Others are primed and must be painted to match your vehicle. Check the listing for the finish.

What does CAPA certified mean?

CAPA is an independent program that tests collision replacement parts for fit, materials and finish against the original part. CAPA labels are shown on listings where they apply.
