What vent visors do

A vent visor is a strip of acrylic or plastic that mounts above the side windows. It angles out from the door frame so you can open the window slightly while rain runs off the visor.

Owners use them to reduce heat buildup when parked, cut fogging on the inside of the glass and add a bit of airflow on the highway without wind noise from a fully open window.

Sets, styles and colors

Visors are sold as a front pair or a 4 piece set for front and rear doors. Check the position and quantity on the listing so you buy the right number for your cab style.

Styles include low-profile and standard designs. Colors include smoke, chrome and blue gray. Some visors stick to the outside of the door frame with tape, and in-channel styles press into the window channel. The listed visors need no drilling.

Installation tips

Install in mild temperatures so the adhesive bonds well. Clean the mounting area with an alcohol wipe, dry fit the visor and mark its position before peeling the tape backing.

For in-channel styles, roll the window up and down several times after fitting and leave it closed for a day so the visor settles. Use the fitment table for body style, such as regular cab, extended cab or crew cab trucks.

Window Vent Visors questions

Do window vent visors need drilling?

The visors listed here do not need drilling. They attach with automotive tape or press into the window channel. Clean the mounting area well before fitting them.

Are in-channel visors better than tape-on visors?

Both work. In-channel visors have a slimmer look but may need a break-in period for the window. Tape-on visors mount outside the frame and do not touch the glass.

Will a 4 door visor set fit my 2 door truck?

No. Buy the set that matches your door count and cab style. Check the fitment table for regular, extended or crew cab. Two door and four door versions use different visor shapes.
