AC Condenser
An AC condenser sits in front of the radiator and releases heat from the refrigerant so it can turn back into a liquid. We carry 32 AC condensers from $35 to $532 for 1981-2019 vehicles, with strong coverage for the Chevrolet Camaro plus options for the Escape, Silverado 1500, Accord and 4Runner.

How a condenser fails
Hot refrigerant gas from the compressor flows through the condenser tubes. Air passing over the fins carries the heat away. Because the condenser sits at the front of the vehicle, it takes hits from road debris and is often damaged in minor front end collisions.
Typical signs include weak cooling at idle or in traffic, oily residue on the fins, bent or corroded fins, and a refrigerant leak found with dye or a leak detector. A blocked condenser can also raise system pressure and make the compressor work harder.
Choosing a condenser
Most listings use an aluminum core, and many are parallel flow designs. Check the refrigerant type in the listing: most are R134A, while some older vehicles use R12. Some condensers include a receiver drier built in, so look for the Includes Drier note.
Compare the inlet fitting type, mounting tabs and overall size with your old unit. Brands here include Denso, AC Delco, Action Crash, GPD, OSC Automotive and TYC.
Fitment and install advice
Pick your year, make and model, then read the fitment table for engine and trim notes. Some vehicles changed condenser design within a model year. Your VIN helps sort that out.
The system has to be recovered before you remove the condenser. Use new O-rings at each fitting, replace the drier or accumulator, and pull a vacuum before recharging. Straighten any bent fins on the radiator while the condenser is out.
AC Condenser questions
Can a cracked AC condenser be repaired?
Small leaks in aluminum condensers are hard to repair reliably because the tubes are thin. Replacement is the normal fix for a leaking or damaged condenser.
Do I need to replace the drier with the condenser?
Yes. Opening the system lets moisture in, and the drier's desiccant should be fresh after any repair. Some condensers in our catalogue have the drier built in.
Why does my AC blow cold on the highway but warm at idle?
That pattern often points to poor airflow across the condenser. Check the cooling fan, blocked fins and debris first, then check refrigerant charge.
