Dorman Exhaust Manifold with Integrated Catalytic Converter 674-439

Exhaust
An exhaust manifold bolts to the cylinder head and collects exhaust from each cylinder into a single outlet for the rest of the exhaust. We carry 32 exhaust manifolds from $69 to $2341 for 1969-2022 vehicles, mostly from Dorman, with fits for the Chevrolet Camaro, Toyota Tacoma, Honda Civic, Nissan Altima, Ford Focus and Ram 1500.

Manifolds expand and contract with every drive, and over time they crack or warp and their studs break. The classic sign is a ticking or tapping noise on a cold start that fades as the engine warms and the crack closes. Others include exhaust smell under the hood or in the cabin, black soot marks around a port, a louder exhaust note and a check engine light from false O2 sensor readings. Exhaust leaks near the cabin are a safety concern, so fix them promptly.
V6 and V8 engines have left and right manifolds, also listed as driver side and passenger side, and they are not interchangeable. Package contents vary: some include the manifold gasket, flange gasket, studs, nuts and washers, while others are the manifold alone. Check the number of O2 sensor ports and the port shape. On some engines the catalytic converter is built into the manifold, which explains the higher prices on a few listings.
Choose your year, make and model and check the fitment table for engine and drive type. Work on a cold engine and soak the studs and nuts with penetrating oil, since broken studs are common. Clean the head surface carefully, use new gaskets and new studs if the old ones are stretched or rusted, and tighten the bolts in the order and torque from your service manual. Transfer the heat shield and O2 sensors from the old manifold.
Most often a ticking or puffing noise that is loudest on a cold start and quieter once the engine warms up. The sound often speeds up with engine rpm.
It is not recommended. Exhaust gases, including carbon monoxide, can enter the cabin, and the hot leak can damage nearby wiring or hoses. Repair it as soon as you can.
Some do and some do not. Check the package contents and the gasket included field on the listing. Always use new gaskets and inspect the studs when you install a manifold.
