About this part

This Cloyes tensioner keeps the secondary timing chain on the left bank at the right tension. A weak tensioner lets the chain slap, which causes rattle at start up and can throw off cam timing. It is a new gray part. Cloyes says its tensioners meet or exceed OEM performance requirements and are CAD designed and tested for function, fit and durability.
