Without a working crank sensor the engine computer cannot time spark or fuel, so the car may not start at all. Failing sensors often cut out once the engine is hot, then work again after it cools. The Prenco 4D-1103 is a replacement crankshaft position sensor for the C5 Corvette's 1998 and 1999 model years. Replacing it is usually the next step after a scan tool shows a crank position code or a missing RPM signal while cranking.

Installation notes
Disconnect the battery first. Clean the sensor bore before fitting the new part and use a light film of oil on the seal. Route the wire away from exhaust heat, then clear codes and confirm an RPM reading while cranking.
