About this part

This kit replaces every coil on a GM V8 that uses the round coil style. Each coil turns battery voltage into the high voltage pulse that fires its spark plug. When coils age, they cause misfires under load, rough idle and a flashing check engine light. Buying all eight at once means you will not be chasing the next weak coil in a month. The red finish sets the coils apart in the engine bay.

Fitment notes

Rows list the set for the 2000 Silverado 1500 with the 5.3L V8, the 2003 Silverado 2500 HD with the 6.0L V8, and the 2002-2003 and 2005 Tahoe. Every row specifies a round coil. GM also used square coils, so look at yours before ordering. Check the fitment table, or send your VIN.

Installation notes

Disconnect the battery before unplugging the coils. Swap one coil at a time and keep the plug wires in order. Check the spark plugs and wires for wear while everything is apart, and clear misfire codes afterward.
