About this part

On the 1.8L Civic, the EGR valve brings a small flow of exhaust back into the intake to reduce combustion heat and NOx output. The EGV1147 is Standard Motor Products' replacement valve for this engine, and it comes with the gaskets needed for installation. A faulty valve often sets an EGR flow code and can cause a rough idle or hesitation. Replacing the valve and cleaning the passages at the same time gives the best result.

The EGV1147 is listed for the 2006 Honda Civic with the 1.8L four cylinder gas engine. The 2.0L Si and the hybrid do not appear in the rows. Check your engine before ordering, and match your car in the fitment table or ask us to run the VIN.

Installation notes

Disconnect the battery before unplugging the valve. Scrape carbon from the mounting port and check that the passage is open. Use the supplied gaskets, torque the bolts evenly and clear the code after a test drive.
