About this part

The EGR valve feeds a small amount of exhaust back into the intake to lower combustion temperatures and cut NOx emissions. A stuck or clogged valve can cause rough idle, pinging, hesitation and EGR flow codes. The EGV658T from Standard Motor Products is a replacement valve for the V6 Accord, and the gaskets needed for installation are in the box. Fitting a new valve with fresh gaskets avoids vacuum leaks at the mounting face.

Installation notes

Disconnect the battery before unplugging the valve. Clean carbon from the EGR port and passage, since a blocked passage will set codes again. Fit the new gaskets, torque the bolts evenly and clear codes.
