About this part

The Excel-G line is KYB's recommended OEM replacement shock. This one uses a twin-tube design and is meant to bring back the handling and control lost as the original shocks wear out. Worn shocks let the body float over bumps, dive under braking and bounce after dips. KYB designs it to compensate for worn suspension and says it installs easily. It is sold as one shock, so order two for the front axle.

Fitment notes

The table lists 343127 for the 1964 Chevrolet Impala, front position. The note says not for cars with air suspension, so check if your Impala has an aftermarket air setup. A car that has been lowered or modified may need a different length. The fitment table may not show every version, so confirm your car there or send your VIN.

Installation notes

Shocks are replaced in pairs on the same axle. Lift the car and support it on jack stands. Penetrating oil helps with old upper studs. Inspect the bushings, springs and ball joints while you have access.
