About this part

The US-286 replaces the key cylinder and switch on the sixth generation Civic. Symptoms of wear include a key that will not turn, a car that stalls when the key is bumped, or no power to the starter. The housing is cast iron and plastic, finished in black and gray, and the mounting bracket is included. Because the cylinder is new, it will use a different key from your doors unless a locksmith rekeys it.
