About this part

On the Expedition, the front evaporator uses a block type expansion valve to control refrigerant flow. When it sticks open or closed, the vents blow warm or the system cycles oddly. Part EX 529459C is a new UAC valve for the front circuit. Vehicles with rear air have a separate rear valve that this part does not replace.

Installation notes

Have a shop recover the refrigerant before you open any AC line. Install new O-rings coated with the right refrigerant oil. Replace the accumulator or drier, pull a vacuum, and recharge by weight.
