About this part

The spare tire hoist lowers and raises the spare that hangs under the bed. When the cable rusts or the mechanism seizes, you cannot get the spare down when you need it. Dorman designed this hoist to replace the stock unit, and it has a corrosion-resistant coating to resist rust. The bracket is black. Appearance may differ slightly from the original part, though Dorman says it functions the same.

Installation notes

Remove the spare tire first, then unbolt the old hoist. Bolt on the new one and test the cable raise and lower before refitting the spare. Make sure the spare locks firmly against the frame.
