Air Intake Hose
An air intake hose connects the air filter box to the throttle body or turbocharger and carries clean air into the engine. We list 33 air intake hoses from $13 to $362 for 1975-2020 vehicles. The Honda Civic has the most listings, followed by the Ford F150, Toyota Camry and Dodge Ram 2500.

Signs of a cracked hose
Intake hoses are rubber or plastic and flex with engine movement. Heat and age cause cracks, often in the folds of the bellows.
On engines with a mass air flow sensor, a crack after the sensor lets unmeasured air in. That can cause a lean code, rough idle, stalling or hesitation. You may also hear a hiss or whistle. On turbo engines, a split hose to the turbocharger can cause low boost and a loss of power. Squeeze the hose while it is cold to find hidden cracks.
Choosing the right hose
Our listings cover positions such as air cleaner to engine and connector to turbocharger. Lengths vary widely, from about 5.5 in to 22 in, and some hoses have extra ports for breather or PCV lines.
Some hoses include clamps and some do not, so check the package contents. Match each port and its size to the original. Brands here include Dorman, Genuine, SKP, Mopar and DIY Solutions.
Install and fitment
Pick your vehicle and read the fitment table for engine size and turbo option. Compare the shape and port count of the old hose.
Loosen the clamps, disconnect any small lines and sensor plugs, then work the hose off. Fit the new hose fully onto each neck, reconnect every port, and tighten the clamps evenly. Clear any lean codes and check for a smooth idle.
Air Intake Hose questions
Can a cracked air intake hose cause a check engine light?
Yes. Unmetered air entering after the mass air flow sensor can set lean codes and cause rough running.
Do air intake hoses come with clamps?
Some do and some do not. Check the package contents in each listing. Reuse your old clamps only if they are not rusted or stretched.
How do I find a leak in my intake hose?
With the engine off and cool, flex the hose and look inside the folds for cracks. A smoke test can find small leaks you cannot see.
