Action Crash Radiator Shutter Housing CH1206102 for Chrysler 200
Fits 2015–2017 models
Cooling System
A radiator shutter assembly, also called an active grille shutter, opens and closes louvers in front of the radiator to balance cooling with airflow. We list 31 assemblies from $26 to $272, nearly all from Action Crash, for 2013-2023 models such as Chevrolet Equinox, GMC Terrain, Traverse, Ford Escape, Subaru Outback and Chrysler 200.

At highway speed, air rushing through the grille adds drag. The shutters close when extra cooling is not needed, which helps fuel economy and can help the engine warm up faster in cold weather. When the engine or A/C needs more airflow, an electric actuator opens the louvers. The engine computer controls the actuator and watches for faults.
A check engine light or a shutter fault code is the usual sign. You may also see louvers stuck partly open or closed, broken vanes, or hear clicking from the front of the vehicle. Front end collisions, road debris, and ice can all damage the assembly.
If the actuator motor is the only failed part, check whether it is sold separately for your vehicle. A broken frame or vanes calls for a full assembly.
Assemblies differ by model, year and engine, and some trims use different grille designs. Check the fitment table, and compare the shape and mounting points of your old unit. Quality levels include CAPA certified and standard replacement parts.
Depending on the vehicle, you may need to remove the front bumper cover to reach the shutters. After installation, some vehicles need a scan tool relearn so the computer recognizes the shutter range. Clear the codes and confirm the louvers move.
Usually yes for a short time, but a check engine light will stay on, and a shutter stuck closed may raise engine temperature in hot weather or when towing. Repair it soon.
It depends on the listing. Some assemblies include the actuator, while others are the housing and louvers only. Check the description and photos, and plan to move your old actuator over if it is not included.
They reduce aerodynamic drag at speed and help the engine warm up faster, which improves fuel economy. Many newer vehicles use them for that reason.
