About this part

The receiver drier holds a desiccant that absorbs moisture from the refrigerant and filters out debris. Moisture in an AC system mixes with refrigerant and oil to form acids that damage the compressor and valves. Because the desiccant saturates once the system is opened, the drier is normally replaced with any major AC repair. This is a genuine GM part sold under the AC Delco name.
