About this part

This sensor reads the speed of a shaft inside the automatic transmission and passes it to the control unit, which uses it to decide when to shift. A failing sensor can cause late or harsh shifts, a flashing transmission light, or a speedometer that drops to zero. The SPS-1311 from Pioneer Cables is a replacement for the 1990 Accord. Installation notes

Disconnect the battery. Wipe the area clean before pulling the sensor so no grit enters the case. Fit the new O-ring, tighten the bolt to spec, and top up any fluid lost during the swap.
