About this part

The Powermaster 48237 is built to replace lower amp alternators with a much higher output. The note lists an AD244 case with offset 2 inch spools, a 4 pin voltage regulator and a natural finish, rated 220 amps with 150 at idle; the attributes also list 255 amps. Dual internal fans aid cooling. Powermaster says one unit can run as a 1 wire setup or with the OEM hookup, that each is dyno tested, and that it suits LS swaps and most GM mounts with two 2 inch spools.
