About this part

The blower motor resistor sets the fan speeds for the heater and air conditioning. When it fails, the fan often works only on high, or not at all on some settings. This Standard Motor Products RU-440 is a new replacement for trucks with manual air conditioning controls, and the mounting bracket is included. It sits in the air stream of the HVAC case, which keeps it cool while it works.

Installation notes

Disconnect the battery before unplugging the resistor. Inspect the connector for melted or burnt terminals and replace the pigtail if needed. A blower motor that draws too much current can kill a new resistor, so check the motor too.
