About this part

The UF-271 is a single square style coil from the Blue Streak line, Standard Motor Products' premium range. It comes with the mounting bracket already fitted, so you can bolt it straight onto the valve cover rail. One failing coil is enough to cause a steady misfire on one cylinder, a shaking idle and poor fuel economy. Replacing only the bad coil is a quick fix once you have confirmed which cylinder is misfiring.

Fitment notes

Rows list the UF-271 for the 2003-2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD with the 6.0L V8 and the 2006 Silverado 1500 with the 4.8L V8. These trucks need the square style coil, not the round one. Compare your coils, then check the fitment table or send your VIN.

Installation notes

Disconnect the battery. Swap the suspect coil with a neighbor to confirm the misfire follows it before you buy more. Check the plug wire and spark plug on that cylinder too, then clear the codes.
