About this part

This sensor sits at the right rear hub and sends a pulse signal to the ABS module as the wheel turns. A bad reading from one corner can switch off ABS and stability control and set a dash warning. ALS2638 is the passenger side part in this Standard Motor Products pair and is designed to replace the factory sensor directly. The left rear has its own number, ALS2637.

Fitment notes

Our catalog lists ALS2638 for the 2014 Chevrolet Malibu, rear right position only. No trim or engine notes appear in the listing, so confirm the connector and mounting on your car. Check your exact version in the fitment table, or send your VIN and we will verify it.

Installation notes

Support the car on jack stands and pull the right rear wheel. Scan for codes first so you replace the sensor at the corner that actually failed. Clean the mounting hole, seat the sensor flat, clip the wire away from moving parts, then clear codes and test drive.
