HVAC setup matters most
For the Silverado 1500 blower motor, the HVAC system and body generation matter more than engine, cab or drivetrain. Group your truck as 2002-2006, 2007-2013, 2014-2018 or 2019-2021. Do not cross older motors into newer trucks by year alone.
2022 is a split year. The Silverado 1500 Limited and the new Silverado 1500 are separate applications, so confirm which you own by the VIN. Some listings note automatic temperature control or the Classic body. All motors here are for the front HVAC blower. Compare the connector, mounting tabs, wheel size and rotation direction with your old motor.
Motor, resistor or connector
A failing blower motor often grinds, squeals or rattles, runs on and off, or stops moving air entirely. Worn bearings, debris in the wheel and water getting in are common causes.
If the fan works only on high, look at the resistor or control module first. That pattern rarely means a bad motor. Silverado trucks are also known for overheated or melted resistor connectors. A burning plastic smell, or a blower that works on some speeds and not others, points to that circuit rather than the motor alone.
Motor only or with wheel
Some listings include the squirrel cage wheel, such as the API and DIY Solutions blower motor and wheel units. Others are the motor only, which means moving your old wheel over, and old wheels can crack or stick on the shaft.
Disconnect the battery first. The motor sits under the passenger side of the dash. Remove the lower close-out panel, unplug the motor and release it from the HVAC case by its screws or twist lock. If the resistor plug is melted, replace the pigtail and resistor too, since a new motor will not fix burnt wiring. Test every fan speed when done.

Silverado 1500 questions
Why does my Silverado 1500 blower only work on high?
That usually points to the blower resistor or control module, not the motor. On high, the circuit often bypasses the resistor. Check the resistor and its connector for heat damage before buying a new blower motor.
Is a 2022 Silverado 1500 Limited blower motor the same as the new 2022 truck?
Treat them as different until your VIN confirms otherwise. The 2022 Limited carries over the earlier body, while the new 2022 truck is a different generation. Select the exact model in the fitment table.
Where is the blower motor on a Silverado 1500?
It sits in the HVAC housing under the passenger side of the dash. You reach it from below after removing the lower trim or close-out panel. No dash removal is needed on the documented procedures.
