Parts for your Ford F150
2016 Ford F150 Turbochargers
Buy Ford F150 turbochargers online from 14 left and right turbos for 2011-2017 trucks, priced from $278.98 to $606.98. Fitment notes here center on the 3.5L V6 EcoBoost, and brands include Rotomaster, A1 Cardone, Quality-Built, SKP, GPD and Mahle. Pick the correct side and year range, since the two turbos on this engine are not the same part.

Engine, side and year range
Only EcoBoost F150 trucks use these parts. The 3.5L EcoBoost runs from 2011-2017 and carries two turbochargers, one on the left and one on the right. They are separate parts and do not swap sides. The 2.7L EcoBoost arrived in 2015 and needs its own turbo, so never fit a 3.5L unit to it.
The 3.5L also splits by year. 2011-2012 turbos have a built-in blow-off valve mount and 2013 and later units do not, so match your year range closely. Cab, bed, trim and 2WD or 4WD do not change the turbo. Check the tag on your removed unit against the listing when you can.
Symptoms of a failing turbo
A tired turbo on an F150 usually shows as weak acceleration, most noticeable when towing or climbing. You may hear a high-pitched whine or siren sound, which can mean the compressor or turbine wheel is damaged or touching the housing. More exhaust smoke and a check engine light are common too.
Code P0299 means underboost, but it does not prove the turbo failed. Leaking charge-air pipes or intercooler, a stuck wastegate or actuator, exhaust leaks, oil supply problems and sensor faults can all cut boost. Smoke test the intake side before you buy a turbo.
One side or both, and installing
Diagnosis decides whether you replace one turbo or both. If only one side has failed, a single left or right unit is enough. Read whether a listing is a single turbo or a set.
Use new exhaust manifold and oil flange gaskets and new turbo fasteners. Flush or replace the oil feed and drain lines so no debris reaches the new bearings, and skip RTV on those joints. Manifold studs are often seized, so soak them in penetrating oil. Before the first start, prime the turbo with oil by cranking the engine with the throttle held down.

F150 questions
Are the left and right turbos on a 3.5L EcoBoost F150 the same?
No. The 3.5L EcoBoost uses two different turbochargers, one for each side, with different plumbing and mounting. Choose the left or right unit to match the side you are replacing.
Will a 2012 F150 turbo fit a 2014 F150?
Do not assume it will. 2011-2012 3.5L turbos have a built-in blow-off valve mount that 2013 and later units lack. Select your exact year in the filter and confirm the fitment table.
Should I replace both turbos on my F150 at once?
It depends on diagnosis. If one turbo has failed and the other has no play, noise or oil leaks, replacing one side can be enough. High mileage trucks with symptoms on both sides may need both.
