Delphi Upper Right Automatic Transmission Speed Sensor W0133-2759558
Fits 2005 models
Parts for your Honda Civic
Buy Honda Civic automatic transmission speed sensors online for 1996-2011 cars. This page lists 9 input, output and vehicle speed sensors from $30.43 to $105.98, by Beck Arnley, NGK, Delphi and Dorman. A Civic automatic may use more than one sensor, and the Hybrid CVT is its own case, so identify the position and transmission before you buy.
Fits 2005 models
Civic sensors are listed as input, output or vehicle speed sensors, plus an upper right position, and they do not interchange. Fitment also depends on the year, engine and transmission. Samples here include the 1.6L in LX and HX trims, the 1.7L in DX and EX trims, the 1.8L, and the 1.3L Hybrid with its CVT.
The 1996-2000 cars alone used several speed sensor assemblies, so year is not enough. On 2006-2011 cars, do not assume a sensor for a standard automatic fits the Hybrid or Si. Match the mounting position, connector shape, terminal count and wire routing to the sensor you remove, and read its part number if you can.
A failing sensor or its wiring can cause a check engine light, a speedometer that cuts out or never moves, harsh, erratic or late shifts and a blinking D light. Cruise control may stop working.
On 2006-2011 Civics, P0720 points to the output shaft speed sensor circuit. That code does not prove the sensor is bad. Check the connector, harness continuity, reference voltage and ground first, and look at live speed data if you have a scan tool.
Most listings are one sensor, so order input and output separately if you need both. Check whether an O-ring is included.
On some 2006-2011 cars you need to remove the air intake to reach the sensor. The output sensor sits toward the rear of the transmission, close to the input sensor, so be sure you are removing the right one. Inspect the connector for corrosion, loose terminals or fluid, and repair a bad pigtail rather than plugging a new sensor into it. Fit a new O-ring, keep dirt out of the bore, and tighten to the Honda spec. Clear the codes and road-test.
Read our automatic transmission speed sensors buying guide for how the part works and what to look for in any vehicle.
It points to a fault in the output shaft speed sensor circuit. Symptoms can include erratic shifting, speedometer trouble and a blinking D light. Check the wiring and connector before replacing the sensor.
Do not assume so. The Hybrid uses a CVT, and its sensor application can differ. Check the fitment table for the 1.3L Hybrid on each listing.
It is toward the rear of the transmission, close to the input sensor. Some cars need the air intake removed for access. Confirm which sensor you are removing before you unplug it.
