TPMS Sensor
A TPMS sensor mounts inside the wheel and reports tire pressure to your dashboard. We carry 126 sensors and service kits from $3 to $140 for 1998-2023 vehicles, from Standard Motor Products, Dorman, AC Delco, Motorcraft and VDO, including fits for the Ford Fusion, F150 and Chevrolet Corvette.

Why TPMS sensors fail
Most direct TPMS sensors run on a sealed battery that cannot be replaced. As the battery ages, the sensor stops reporting and the tire pressure light comes on or flashes. Sensors can also break during tire changes or when valve stems corrode.
Before buying, check the actual tire pressures with a gauge. If all tires are correct and the light stays on or flashes, a sensor or system fault is the likely cause.
Sensors and service kits
Some listings are complete sensors. Others are service kits with a valve core, nut, grommet and cap that refresh the valve stem when tires are changed. Use the service kit when the sensor works but its seals are old.
Sensors use either a clamp-in metal stem or a snap-in rubber stem. Match the stem style and the radio frequency to your vehicle. The spare tire position appears on some vehicles that monitor the spare as well.
Installation and relearn
Sensors are mounted inside the tire, so a tire shop with a mounting machine is the usual route. Torque the valve nut to spec to avoid cracking the stem.
Most vehicles need a relearn procedure after a new sensor is fitted. Some learn automatically after a short drive, while others need a TPMS tool or a sequence of key and button steps. Check the fitment table for your year, because sensors change between model years.
TPMS Sensor questions
Why is my tire pressure light flashing?
A flashing light that then stays on usually means a sensor or system fault, not low pressure. A weak sensor battery is a common cause on older vehicles.
Do I need to program a new TPMS sensor?
Most vehicles need a relearn so the computer recognizes the new sensor ID. The method varies by make, from a drive cycle to a TPMS tool.
Can I replace just the TPMS valve stem?
On many sensors, yes. A service kit replaces the valve core, grommet, nut and cap. If the sensor body or battery has failed, you need a full sensor.
