Camaro brake hose fitment
Brake hoses change with the brake system as much as the year. On 1967-1969 cars, front drum and front disc brakes take different hoses, and 1967-1968 rear hose hardware differs from later cars. The 1970-1981, 1982-1992 and 1993-2002 Camaros each have several front and rear hoses depending on brake setup and performance package.
On 2010-2015 cars, hoses differ by position, side and brake package, and SS brakes are not interchangeable with V6 brakes by assumption. Listings here note setups such as front disc with rear drum, or rear disc. Match the end fittings, banjo or threaded, the length and the bracket with your old hose.
When to replace a brake hose
Rubber brake hoses age. Look for cracks, bulges, chafing, rusted fittings and wet spots from leaking fluid. A hose that swells under pedal pressure gives you a soft, spongy pedal, and a weak hose can make the car pull to one side when you brake.
A leaking or burst hose can cause a serious loss of braking, so do not drive on one. On older Camaros, check the hose routing, brackets and the joint where the hose meets the steel line for corrosion, especially on restored or modified cars. If one original hose is bad, the rest are likely the same age.
Installing Camaro brake hoses
Most listings are one hose, so check whether you need a single hose, a left and right pair or a full set. If you converted a V6 car to SS brakes, use the hoses for that setup, not the standard V6 hose.
Use a flare nut wrench on the steel line fitting so you do not round it off. Replace copper sealing washers on banjo fittings, and check the retaining clip and bracket. Make sure the new hose does not twist or rub through full steering lock and suspension travel. Bleed the brakes after the job, and flush the fluid if it is dark or contaminated.

Camaro questions
Are front left and right brake hoses the same on a Camaro?
It depends on the year. Some catalogs list separate left and right front hoses, while others use one part for both sides. Check the position named in each listing.
Do I need to bleed the brakes after changing a Camaro brake hose?
Yes. Opening the hydraulic system lets air in, so bleed the brakes after replacing any hose. Flush the fluid as well if it is old or contaminated.
Does a 2010-2015 Camaro SS use the same brake hoses as a V6?
Not by assumption. The SS brake system differs from V6 equipment, and V6-to-SS conversions need the matching SS hoses. Check your brake package in the fitment table.
