Parts for your Honda Accord
2000 Honda Accord Air Fuel Ratio Sensors
Buy Honda Accord air fuel ratio sensors online for 1999-2020 cars. There are 13 upstream sensors here from $72.98 to $268.58, by Denso, NGK and API. On a Honda, the upstream sensor ahead of the catalytic converter is the air fuel ratio sensor, so this page is the place for that position, from the 2.3L F23A engines to the 3.5L V6 and 1.5L turbo.

Engine, bank and position
Accord A/F sensor fitment depends on the engine, emissions setup and position. The years here cover the 1999-2002, 2003-2007, 2008-2012, 2013-2017 and 2018-2020 cars, and fitment samples include the 2.3L F23A1 and F23A4, the 2.4L, the 3.5L V6 and the 1.5L turbo.
Four-cylinder Accords commonly use two sensors, while V6 cars commonly use four, with a sensor on each bank. Listings here are marked upstream or upstream rear, so confirm which bank you need. Left and right can be confusing, so use the bank number from your service information. An upstream A/F sensor and a downstream oxygen sensor are different designs and do not interchange.
Symptoms of a failing A/F sensor
A worn or contaminated sensor can cause lower fuel economy, a rough idle, hesitation when you accelerate and a failed emissions test. You will often see a check engine light with a sensor heater, circuit or response code. P0135, P0141 and P0158 are common related codes.
A code does not prove the sensor is bad. Exhaust leaks, damaged wiring and engine problems that send extra fuel or oil into the exhaust can trigger the same faults and can kill a new sensor too.
Installing the new sensor
Buy a direct-fit sensor with the factory connector, and check whether the listing is one sensor or a set. On a V6, replacing every sensor at once is not automatically needed. Denso and NGK both list upstream sensors for the Accord here.
Use a slotted oxygen sensor socket, commonly 22mm, so the wire clears. Apply only the thread treatment supplied with the sensor and keep it off the tip. Torque to the spec for your engine. Fix any exhaust leak or damaged wiring, then clear the code and confirm the fault does not return.

Accord questions
Is the air fuel ratio sensor the same as the O2 sensor on my Accord?
Honda calls the upstream sensor the air fuel ratio sensor. The downstream sensor after the catalytic converter is a conventional oxygen sensor. They are different designs and do not swap.
How many air fuel ratio sensors does a V6 Accord have?
A V6 Accord commonly uses four oxygen-type sensors, with an upstream A/F sensor on each bank. Four-cylinder cars commonly use two in total. Check the bank and position in the fitment table.
What socket do I need to change my Accord A/F sensor?
A slotted oxygen sensor socket, commonly 22mm, lets the wire pass through while you turn it. Torque the new sensor to the spec for your engine.
