Honda automatics often use separate speed sensors. The input or mainshaft sensor reads the shaft coming from the engine, and the output or countershaft sensor reads the output side, and some listings call it a vehicle speed sensor. The 2008-2012 catalogs commonly list input and output sensors as separate parts.
Fitment also depends on the engine and transmission, so four-cylinder and V6 Accords should not be assumed interchangeable. Fitment samples here include the 2.4L, the LX 3.0L V6 and DX and SE trims. Match the connector shape, terminal count and keying, the O-ring and the probe length to the sensor you remove.
A bad sensor can make the speedometer quit or jump, cause harsh, erratic or delayed shifts, disable cruise control and turn on the check engine or transmission light. On 1994-1997 cars, a mainshaft sensor fault may flash the D4 light and leave the car stuck in one gear, with code P0715. On 2003-2007 cars, P0500 is a common speed signal code.
Damaged wiring, a loose or corroded connector or a transmission control problem can cause the same symptoms, so check the harness before you buy.
Most listings are a single sensor, so order an input and output sensor separately if you need both. On many 2003-2012 cars, you reach the sensor by moving the air intake or battery area parts, and it is held by one 10mm bolt.
Inspect the O-ring and replace it if it is flat or torn. Lightly coat it with clean automatic transmission fluid, seat the sensor fully and tighten the bolt to the spec for your car. Plug in the connector, check for leaks, clear the codes and road-test to confirm the speedometer and shifts are normal.

Many Accord automatics use separate input and output speed sensors. The exact number depends on the year and transmission, so check which position your code or symptom points to.
Common codes include P0715 for the input or mainshaft sensor and P0500 for a vehicle speed signal fault. Wiring can cause the same codes, so test before replacing.
Do not assume they do. Sensor fitment depends on the engine and transmission. Check the fitment table on each listing for your exact engine and position.
