Fuel Injection

Fuel injection parts meter fuel and air so your engine runs clean and smooth. This department lists 296 parts from $3 to $1869 for vehicles built from 1975-2025, including fuel injectors, throttle bodies, oxygen sensors and pressure regulators. What this department covers

Fuel pressure regulators lead with 41 listings. You will also find fuel injectors, throttle bodies, throttle position sensors, oxygen sensors, air fuel ratio sensors, MAP sensors and accelerator pedal sensors. Parts for older mechanical injection systems include fuel distributors and cold start valves. Brands include AC Delco, Standard Motor Products, Denso, Bosch and Autopart Premium. Chevrolet has the widest coverage, especially the Camaro and Silverado trucks, followed by Honda, including the Accord, and the S10, Corvette, Ford, Dodge, Toyota and Jeep.

Symptoms of injection problems

A rough idle, misfire, poor fuel economy or a fuel smell can point to a leaking or clogged injector. Oxygen and air fuel ratio sensors that are slow or failed often set check engine codes and raise fuel use. A failed throttle position or accelerator pedal sensor can cause hesitation, surging or a reduced power mode. On systems with a vacuum line on the pressure regulator, fuel in that line means the regulator diaphragm is leaking, which can cause hard hot starts and rich running.

Choosing sensors and injectors

Oxygen sensors are sold by position. Upstream sensors sit before the catalytic converter and downstream sensors after it, and V engines have one upstream sensor per bank. Air fuel ratio sensors look similar but are not interchangeable with standard oxygen sensors. Check the connector shape and wire length against your old part. Injectors are matched by flow rate and connector style, and are often replaced as a set. Relieve fuel pressure and disconnect the battery before you open the fuel rail.

Fuel Injection questions

What is the difference between upstream and downstream oxygen sensors?

The upstream sensor sits before the catalytic converter and helps the computer adjust the fuel mixture. The downstream sensor sits after the converter and mainly checks how well the converter is working. They often use different connectors or wire lengths, so order by position.

Should I replace all fuel injectors at once?

If one injector has failed on a high mileage engine, replacing the full set keeps fuel delivery even across cylinders. On a newer engine with one faulty injector, a single replacement is reasonable. Always fit new O rings and seals when you install injectors.

Do I need an idle relearn after replacing a throttle body?

On many electronic throttle vehicles, yes. The computer may need to relearn the closed throttle position before the idle settles. Some vehicles do this after a set key and drive sequence, while others need a scan tool. Check the procedure for your make.
