1991 Chevrolet Corvette Heater Hoses

Buy Chevrolet Corvette heater hoses online for 1980-2013 cars. There are 15 hoses here from $2.72 to $33.43, by Gates, Dayco, AC Delco, ContiTech and API. Many are molded for one position, such as heater to valve, tee to engine or throttle body to intake manifold, so pick the hose by where it goes as well as by year and engine.

Position and engine matter

The 1980-2013 range spans the C3, C4, C5 and C6 Corvette, with no 1983 model year sold. Hose routing and size change with the engine, air conditioning and emissions setup, so a hose for a 5.7L small-block will not match an LS3 car just because the years are close. Fitment samples here include 5.0L, 5.7L and 6.2L V8s.

Check the position named on each listing, such as heater to valve, tank to tee, tee-2 to reservoir or throttle body to engine. Match the inside diameter, length, bends and end shape to your old hose. Some C3 layouts use two different hose sizes, so do not order two identical pieces without measuring.

Signs a heater hose is failing

Rubber hoses crack, soften, swell and wear through with age, often near the clamps. Watch for a falling coolant level, a coolant smell, wet spots, overheating or no cabin heat.

A leak where the hoses meet the heater core can wet the passenger side firewall or floor. That can look like a failed heater core, so check the hose ends first. If one old hose is leaking, the others of the same age are usually close behind.

Replacing Corvette heater hoses

Drain or catch the coolant before you disconnect anything, and use new clamps. At the heater core, slit the old hose lengthwise and peel it off. Twisting it can damage the heater core tubes. On C3 cars the heater core connections are at the passenger side firewall, and you may need to remove the lower rock guard or work from underneath.

Inspect the metal pipes and fittings while the system is open. Refill with the correct coolant, bleed out the air as your generation requires, and check for leaks once the engine is warm.

Corvette questions

How do I remove a stuck heater hose on my Corvette?

Slit the old hose lengthwise with a knife and peel it off the heater core tube. Twisting or pulling hard can bend or crack the tube and turn a cheap hose job into a heater core repair.

Are both heater hoses on a C3 Corvette the same size?

Not always. Some C3 layouts use one 5/8 inch and one 3/4 inch hose. Measure each one and match it to the position listed on the product.

Which Corvette heater hose do I need?

Start with your year and engine, then match the hose position, such as heater to valve or throttle body to intake manifold. Compare the bends and length with your old hose before you order.
